This female patient, a mother in her early 40s from Boston, Massachusetts, wanted to improve persistent abdominal laxity and achieve greater definition through her abdomen, waist, and back. She had a significant rectus diastasis that contributed to abdominal protrusion and could not be corrected through diet and exercise alone.
Dr. Vickram Tandon performed an extended abdominoplasty with rectus plication to repair her abdominal muscle separation and tighten the abdominal wall. He combined this with circumferential liposuction, also known as Lipo 360, treating the abdomen, bilateral flanks, waist, and back to improve her overall torso contour and create a smoother transition through the waistline. She is shown here just two months post-operatively with a flatter abdomen and the beginning of more defined contours through her waist and torso. These are still early results, and residual swelling will continue to resolve as her tissues heal and her final shape develops over the coming months.
