Once Dr. Tandon is finished with your injection, you will be able to return to your normal routine. There will be some expected temporary swelling and bruising, with its peak taking place during the first few days following your injection, and subsiding within a few weeks. You can lessen the swelling by alternating between an ice pack and a warm compress for the first few days, wearing a chin strap for additional compression, and firmly massaging the treated area. If needed, you can take some over-the-counter pain medication to reduce any pain during your recovery.
To obtain the best results, you will need to return for follow-up visits about a month after each session, but our Patient Coordinator will schedule your next appointment date so you don’t need to stress.
Keep in mind that if you have post-Kybella swelling, you will need to let it subside before you can get your next injection. If you are still experiencing swelling before your next scheduled treatment, please let us know.
