What is RF Microneedling?
Radiofrequency (RF) Microneedling combines fractional radiofrequency technology with microdermabrasion to treat the lower layers of your skin. The second layer of your skin (dermis) contains cells that contribute to the formation of connective tissue called fibroblasts, which are responsible for producing collagen and elastin. This process can soften fine lines and wrinkles, or help reduce scarring.
The Microneedling machine penetrates the top layer of skin, creating microchannels with extremely tiny needles that are connected to the headpiece. As Dr. Tandon applies pressure to your skin with the headpiece, heat energy is delivered into your dermis at predetermined depths to encourage collagen and elastin production.
RF Microneedling can be used to treat the following skin conditions:
- Acne scarring
- Fine lines
- Premature aging
- Stretch marks
- Sun damage
- Uneven skin texture and tone
Patients are usually able to see tremendous improvement in the appearance of wrinkles, pore size, scars including acne, and skin laxity after about three treatments, spaced apart every six weeks.
