What To Expect On The Day Of Lip Lift?
On the day of your Lip Lift in Boston, you will first meet with Dr. Tandon and discuss your procedure one more time. You will then be administered either local anesthesia or sedation to ensure your comfort throughout the process. Dr. Tandon may make some temporary marks on your lips where he intends on making the incisions.
Dr. Tandon will skillfully perform the Lip Lift by making carefully placed incisions along the natural lip line or beneath the base of the nose, depending on the technique he chooses. We encourage our patients to avoid any strenuous activities for the first few weeks and follow the specific guidelines for eating, drinking, and talking that we give you.

Every patient reacts to pain differently, but since a Lip Lift is typically performed under sedation, either with local anesthesia or general anesthesia, any discomfort or pain will be minimal, if experienced at all. You should expect some swelling, bruising, and mild discomfort after the surgery, but these symptoms are usually well-managed with pain medication that Dr. Tandon will prescribe to you.
Dr. Tandon will have you return to our office about a week after surgery so that he can monitor your recovery and remove any bandages or sutures. After this initial follow-up appointment, most patients will need to return a few more times over the next few months but will space out even more between each subsequent visit.
Dr. Tandon will always inform you of how he believes you are recovering and when he expects to see you again.
While many patients will be able to see some positive results immediately following your procedure, you should expect to see better results in about three to four months, with the final results producing more definition with a better lip ratio after about a year post-surgery.
