Introduction to
Non-Surgical Facelift
The idea of looking young forever seems somewhat mythical, but unlike unicorns and fairies, facial rejuvenation is obtainable. The plastic surgery community has always had the Facelift as a viable option to “turn back the clock”, however, the recovery time and cost of a traditional Facelift can be daunting for a lot of patients. The good news is that thanks to the help of Dermal Fillers, Vickram Tandon, MD offers our Boston patients the Non-Surgical Facelift as a significantly more affordable, yet still effective, option. To learn more about this treatment, please keep reading below!
What Is A Non-Surgical Facelift?
A Non-Surgical Facelift, often referred to as a Liquid Facelift due to the dermal filler and injectables that are used, is a very minimally invasive alternative to the traditional surgical Facelift. The treatment allows for full-facial rejuvenation by diminishing or correcting problems such as drooping eyebrows, dark under-eye circles, sunken areas from under the eyes to the cheek, frown lines, flat cheeks, weak chin, jowls, jawline hollows, and scars.
Every product used is FDA-approved and by using a strategic combination of both dermal fillers and injectables, Dr. Tandon can help you achieve long-lasting and natural facial results.
Some of the more common areas of treatment include:
- Below the eyes
- Cheeks
- Eyebrows
- Forehead
- Jowls
- Temples
- The area between the lips and nose
- If you have any scaring, fillers will also be applied

Once finished, your face will be gently cleaned off of any markings and you will be offered an ice pack to lightly apply to your face so any excessive swelling or bruising will be minimized.

Non-Surgical Facelift FAQS
Most Liquid Facelift patients find any pain associated with the treatment to be minimal if any at all. Before the injections are made, the treated areas will be numbed with a local anesthetic to help reduce any discomfort. There is a slight pinch or sting during the injection, but it usually lasts only a few seconds. After the procedure, patients may experience some mild swelling or redness, but it typically subsides within a few days and can be alleviated with over-the-counter pain medication.
Most patients will only need one session to achieve results from their Non-Surgical Facelift. Once the filler finds its resting position, you should be able to enjoy the new look for about eight months, with some patients getting almost two years’ worth of stunning results.
There have been instances in which a patient might require additional treatment for the best results. This can be for a variety of reasons, but specifically in rare instances where the filler and injectable don’t “stick” and your body naturally absorbs some of it.
You should be able to see almost instant results following your Non-Surgical Facelift, but please keep in mind that you will also experience some swelling and redness along with potential bruising. After a few days, these reactions should subside and you will be able to notice your full results.
Of course! Many of our Boston Non-Surgical Facelift patients will often combine their treatment with other non-surgical cosmetic enhancements such as CO₂ Laser Resurfacing, RF Microneedling, or Lip Fillers. Regardless of what your aesthetic goals are, please feel free to discuss them with Dr. Tandon during your consultation and he will be happy to offer his expertise in suggesting some wonderful options for you.
Liquid Facelifts are generally safe, but some common risks are associated with them, such as:
- Bruising
- Bumps or lumps from the filler
- Itching or mild skin rash
- Minor pain, particularly when smiling or laughing
- Redness
- Soreness
- Swelling
Some additional, but much rare side effects include:
- Allergic reactions
- Cysts or abscesses
- Necrosis of the skin
- Herpes simplex virus (HSV)
- Bacterial infections, including strep or staph infections
Please call our office immediately if you have an allergic reaction or flu-like symptoms after your non-surgical facelift.
