The Microneedling machine penetrates the top layer of skin, creating microchannels with extremely tiny needles that are connected to the headpiece. What To Expect On The Day Of RF Microneedling?
On the day of your RF Microneedling, you will first be comfortably sat in our reclining chair. The area being treated will be cleansed and a topical anesthetic will be applied to make your experience more comfortable.
Dr. Tandon will then use the handheld RF Microneedling device, running it in deliberate patterns across your skin. The device makes micro-punctures while simultaneously emitting the RF waves to the deeper layers of your dermis. Once the entire area has been treated, a soothing ointment will be applied which will help reduce any residual pain following your treatment.
The procedure takes about 10 to 20 minutes, but the duration can fluctuate depending on the treatment type and area of the procedure.
RF Microneedling Recovery
You will have practically zero downtime after your RF Microneedling treatment and should have no problem returning to your daily routine. Keep in mind that your skin will have a pink hue to it, very similar to a light sunburn, but most people will recover within one to three days. If you are outside during this time, please wear quality SPF sunscreen to protect your new skin.
- Patients should anticipate mild discomfort, redness, and irritation, with potential tiny, pinpoint scabs that form between 24 and 72 hours post-treatment. All of these reactions to the treatment will naturally disappear when the underlying skin has healed.
- Patients can expect their results as the skin heals over three or four weeks after an RF microneedling session, with the best results after 3 – 4 treatments spaced one month apart.
